Anjuna is a small village in north Goa, but is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Goa. This small beach village was a major destination for the hippies during the sixties and the seventies. It is now a very popular tourist destination in Goa, famous for its parties and flea markets. The tourist season in Anjuna starts during the end of October and it reaches its peak during the Christmas and New Year time. One can find tourists from all over India and abroad during these times, the hotels are booked much in advance during the peak season and the prices are also higher. One can find all kind of travellers in Anjuna, from backpackers and artists to monks and party freaks.
